Mattos Filho, Veiga Filho, Marrey Jr e Quiroga Advogados in São Paulo has helped Alberta Investment Management sign a deal with Brazilian private equity company IG4 Capital to invest 400 million reais (US$101 million) in waste management company Iguá Saneamento.
Pinheiro Neto Advogados in São Paulo advised Iguá Saneamento, as well as its controlling shareholder FIP Iguá, which IG4 created last year.
Iguá Saneamento, previously called CAB Ambiental, was rebranded following IG4's purchase of a stake in the company last September.
The deal between Alberta and IG4 was signed on 30 July. The transaction is awaiting approval by the Brazilian antitrust authority.
Alberta will become a shareholder of FIP Iguá, but the details of its stake will only be released once the deal has closed.
Iguá Saneamento is a Brazilian sanitation company that operates water supply and sewage systems. It operates in five Brazilian states, providing services to around 6.6 million people.
