Mattos Filho, Veiga Filho, Marrey Jr e Quiroga Advogados has helped hospital chain Rede D'or acquire a 75% stake in a private hospital in Aracaju, the capital of Sergipe state in northeastern Brazil.
Pinheiro Neto Advogados advised the sellers, the Barreto and Todt families, who founded the hospital in 1969. Two other original shareholders have not sold their combined 25% stake and will take part in the facility's continued management.
The deal closed on 24 January. No value was disclosed.
This recent acquisition shows that Rede D'or, which has previously targeted cities like Recife and Salvador, is expanding to other state capitals in the region.
