Latam closes 12-year facility

Carrier receives first of four aircraft financed by a group of banks.

Latam has taken delivery of a new A350 last week under a 12-year commercial facility with a group of banks.

The aircraft delivered on 18 May and carries MSN 35, according to a person who worked on the deal.

The facility will finance four aircraft in total: three A350s and one A320neo. The remaining A350s deliver in Q2 and Q3 2016, and the A320neo will deliver in Q4 2016.

BNP Paribas is acting as senior lender. The other senior lenders are Development Bank of Japan, KfW IPEX-bank, Helaba and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC).

Investec Bank is the junior lender.

Norton Rose Fulbright acted for Latam. Winston & Strawn acted for the senior lenders. Pillsbury acted for the junior lender. Pinheiro Neto Advogados advised the lenders on local law.
