Russian agrochemicals company EuroChem Group has hired Pinheiro Neto Advogados to buy a majority stake in Brazilian fertiliser distributor Fertilizantes Tocantins.
Mattos Filho, Veiga Filho, Marrey Jr e Quiroga Advogados advised Fertilizantes Tocantins shareholders José Eduardo Motta and Adriana Araújo Motta.
EuroChem bought 50 per cent plus one share in the fertiliser distributor. The deal was signed on 5 July but remains subject to approval from Brazil's antitrust authority. The value of the stake sold has been kept confidential. Under the terms of the sale, José Eduardo Motta remains as shareholder and CEO of Fertilizantes Tocantins.
Fertilizantes Tocantins operates in Brazil's north, north-east and mid-west regions.
