Bitcoin is a go in Brazil, experts say

São Paulo-based Bruno Balduccini and Rosine Kadamani, finance experts and partners at Pinheiro Neto, told Payments Compliance the Central Bank of Brazil (CBB) has permitted numerous Bitcoin enterprises looking to operate in the country. 

They said that following a personal meeting with the CBB last week, it was clear that the regulatory authority "understood and agreed that Bitcoin is a legal thing". 

Virtual currencies are beginning to make headway across Latin America, as most countries are plagued by unstable fiat currencies and strict capital controls on the cross-border movement of funds.
