Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP in Toronto and Brazilian firm Pinheiro Neto Advogados in Brasília have helped Canadian mining company Yamana Gold complete a US$42 million share offering, making its subsidiary Brio Gold a standalone company
The underwriters, CIBC World Markets, National Bank Financial, Canaccord Genuity and Cormark Securities, took counsel from Machado Meyer Advogados and are thought to have also hired Norton Rose Fulbright and Brazilian firm and Machado de Campos e Barreto Advogados, but this could not be confirmed prior to publication.
Yamana remains a shareholder in the company, holding an 85% stake. Brio is currently listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
The deal closed on 23 December.
