Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP in New York and Hogan Lovells LLP's Amsterdam office have helped the Dutch subsidiary of embattled Brazilian energy company Petrobras issue notes worth US$4 billion.
Banco Bradesco BBI, Citigroup Global Markets, HSBC Securities, Itaú BBA and Morgan Stanley were underwriters and hired Shearman & Sterling LLP in New York and São Paulo and Brazilian firm Pinheiro Neto Advogados.
Petrobras will use the majority of the proceeds to make a tender offer to buy back existing bonds that mature in 2018, in an effort to refinance debt that matures in 2020.
The notes are listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
The offering closed on January 17.
